Codex vs Claude 💥

Doing a bit of pair coding today this week with Codex vs. Claude.

I have to say, Codex was really easy to set up, comparatively, but.... that's because Claude already helped me fix a bunch of shit in my PATH and .zshrc and stuff like that, plus the existing CLAUDE.md docs certainly helped too.

In either case, I'm VERY impressed with Codex's simplicity in that matter, as well as how it feels really quick for a lot of things.

I still have massive amounts of things to learn and try, but my prediction on how these two will best be used at the moment, and what I'm going to run with until I'm convinced otherwise:

Claude for tasks that require either:
* very complex changes requiring a heavy amount of planning and pre-definition
* solutions that can benefit from a small group of agents rather than a single one

Codex for... probably everything else.

next experiment: turning on some automatic code reviews.
